Izmir trip part 5/5

At the end of the day, after touring around and visiting Kusadasi, we headed back home to the village where Elif's family lives. It's a sweet little village sourrounded by olive trees and fig trees and with thermal sources in the area. It's called Kabaağaç Köyü (literally meaning rough/rude tree village), it's close to Buharkent, a little town in the province of Denizli. But the trees in this peaceful little village are everything but rude, they are just gorgeous and generously growing and sharing their fruits.
The second day there was a festivity going on dedicated to prophet Muhammad and all women busied themselves with cooking huge quantities at home. And they also gathered on a little field to prepare a big amount of gözleme (kind of pancake filled with cheese, rasped potatoes or spinach) for everyone. They were so joyful, happily talking and giggling while everyone performed her tasks for the day. They loved our company and posing for the camera and then they wrapped up a couple of gözleme in newspaper pages for us to eat on the road.
It was lovely. I will let the many pictures below speak for them self. Enjoy! x
